RSE website homepage

For this project, our goal was to create a digital space for the RSE that reflected the organisation’s prestigious history, while making their work accessible and engaging for a modern audience. The site showcases all research, events and fellowship programmes with a strong emphasis on clarity, accessibility, and responsive design. We focused on intuitive navigation and structured content to highlight the RSE’s key areas, while ensuring the platform remains scalable and easy to manage for the RSE team.

Prior to embarking on this project with us, the organisation had been experiencing issues with a site that had been launched two years previously, due to tricky maintenance, unreliable features, and most importantly, unsatisfactory performance. It was therefore essential that the new website would deliver on all these fronts, with the new site outperforming the old by at least two-fold.

We included an accessibility widget that was created in-house, offering an easy way to control the site’s colour mode and text size, as well as other helpful functions such as highlighting all links and hiding images. We trialled a couple of pre-built plugins initially, but were instead keen to deliver the required features in a more streamlined way, that was interwoven within the core of the site.

It’s a website built to support a national academy with global impact.
