We were truly honoured to work with Filmhouse Edinburgh on a refreshed visual identity for their long-awaited reopening. A beloved institution that has given us countless memorable experiences over the years and enriched the city for decades, the rebrand marked the highly anticipated reopening of their cinema and bar in June 2025, after being closed to the public for over three years.


We approached this project not as a reinvention, but as a reworking, preserving well established familiarity while gently guiding into a new era. A decision was made to preserve key elements of the original logo, most notably the use of inline lettering, reimagining in a way that would create a warmer, more approachable aesthetic. This was further evolved with the addition of a roundel logo variation, intended for use across social media content and animation. The signature ‘Filmhouse Red’ was adjusted to evoke a brighter, more positive character, and paired with an equally vibrant and uplifting colour palette.

We supported Filmhouse flexibly in the lead-up to their opening, providing design and roll-out of branded stationary, membership assets, external signage, promotional material, food menus, support with their website and much much more.
