Creating a fresh, new visual identity for one of the most unique arts festivals in Ireland. A staple of Galway and Ireland’s cultural calendar, Cúirt International Festival of Literature is an annual festival of words and ideas, bringing together the best in Irish and international contemporary writing. Between 21 and 25 April 2021, Cúirt will host over 30 events, all broadcast into the homes of their audiences.
We are proud to have played a key role in their new brand journey, from logo design and brand guidelines, to website development and delivery of brand assets. We were asked to create a cohesive look and feel for all their digital and print marketing materials, as well as corporate communications. Their new visual identity is fresh, clean and dynamic, setting out to acknowledge their rich history as a flagship festival in Galway, with high aspirations for future festivals.
When developing their website, we first wanted to ensure that the festival’s programme would be well-presented online, increasing engagement across all audiences with an easy and clear navigation to find event information, whether being explored in depth on a desktop computer or a quick look-up via mobile.
In addition to the programme, other core content was presented with thorough consideration, from previous event videos, writing projects info, to the ability to setup recurring donations to help the festival continue delivering its incredible programme.
The fresh rebrand was the foundation for the site design, applying the shapes, typography, colours and brand assets throughout the site. Content was migrated out of previous site’s page builder, replacing this with a streamlined bespoke builder that would enable the site’s administrator to create new content, on brand with ease.
